Partner School East Mountain High Receives National Blue Ribbon School Award

Sandia Park, NM – East Mountain High School was designated a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education in the category Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing Schools. The school credits Talent Development Secondary’s implementation of Early Warning Systems strategies – building practices to regularly monitor the Early Warning Indicators (EWI) of Attendance, Behavior, and Course Performance (the ABCs) – as contributing to their improvement.

“Being a member of the Early Warning Systems initiative has provided East Mountain High School with valuable tools and strategies to assist our school in meeting the needs of our struggling learners,” said EMHS Principal Monique Siedschlag. “While we continue to modify our practice, the support and professional development from Talent Development Secondary has helped us to achieve positive gains. We are extremely proud to be named a 2018 Blue Ribbon School for Exemplary Achievement in Closing the Achievement Gap.”
